In the winter time all guests are greeted by roaring fires and hot pots of tea.
The gardens still look wonderful and with some snow and winter frosts and mists they become a winter wonderland. The pond is often frozen and sometimes we see deer in the adjoining fields. Over this period the Hall is decorated in the traditional manner with holly, ivy and other greenery as we await Father Christmas’ annual visit. In the New Year the Hall and Gardens rest and recuperate in order to be ready to welcome our first visitors.
Our gardeners have plenty to do all year round and this is the time to prepare for next year’s visitors – pruning, planting, paths to repair and many other essential tasks need doing.
