Theatre in the Garden.
The Three Inch Fools are a five-strong troupe of actors with all manner of musical instruments, travelling with our set, props, costumes and camping gear, performing our highly imaginative and vibrantly musical take on Shakespeare's plays.
'We love to perform Shakespeare in almost any kind of setting, and we're quite used to staging his plays both indoors and outdoors, in all sorts of places. To date, we have performed Shakespeare in castles, stately homes, gardens, churches, market places, village greens, an old fire station, a medieval crypt, a crowded pub and a garlic farm – all the world's a stage!'
“a completely enchanting evening of theatre and music, the creative approach to storytelling
“The Three Inch Fools are a cut above the rest, bringing a fresh and new approach to Shakespeare”
“this troupe are definitely a company to watch – and then keep watching, again and again”

Christmas is magical at Crook Hall.
The house is decorated with greenery from the gardens in time for the first opening day when the log fires will be blazing and the lights on the trees will be twinkling to welcome Father Christmas.
The elves will be working overtime to wrap up all the presents, while the delicious aroma of mulled wine and mince pies will be drifting out of the kitchen.
Adults and children alike can experience the atmosphere of a traditional Christmas in fairy tale surroundings. Elves will be on hand to help children write letters to Father Christmas and make Christmas cards. There will be Christmas story telling and games with Mr Frosty the Snowman. Then they can let off steam in the gardens following the Christmas Treasure Hunt. Of course the most important part of the afternoon will be a visit to the Georgian Study to meet Father Christmas. There will be presents for everyone who has been good – and that includes mums, dads, grandparents etc.
Adults £10, Children £13 and Under 1's £3. Pre-Booking is essential.
9th, 17th and 22nd December 2017 | 4pm until 6pm
You don’t have to be a child to enjoy the magic of Christmas so have an event especially for grown ups: We are inviting you to come along to Crook Hall and join in a traditional Christmas celebration. The Hall looks beautiful when decorated with holly and ivy and is the perfect setting for carols, open fires, mulled wine and mince pies.
Father Christmas will be waiting to greet all our guests. (He might even have some gifts in his sack – why should the children have all the fun?!!!)
This event is guaranteed to evoke Christmassy feelings and would combine really well with a shopping trip into Durham and perhaps a visit to the Cathedral. This is a chance to escape from the commercialisation of Christmas and enjoy some yuletide magic from years gone by.
£10 per person and pre-booking is essential.
