A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM
The Three Inch Fools present A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Five actors, with all manner of musical instruments, present an inventive take on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream - a comic tale of runaway lovers, beguiling potions and a rather unfortunate individual who gets turned into a donkey…
The Three Inch Fools are a five-strong troupe of actors with all manner of musical instruments, performing a highly imaginative and vibrantly musical take on Shakespeare's plays across the UK.
The Fools perform Shakespeare in almost any kind of setting - to date, they have performed at castles, cathedrals, historic houses, gardens, churches, market places, village greens, an old fire station, a medieval crypt, a crowded pub and a garlic farm – all the world's a stage!

The HandleBards are the world’s first cycling theatre company. Before touring their “seriously silly” production of Romeo and Juliet around the world, they pedalled it 1500 miles around the UK by bicycle, with all the necessary set, props and costume in tow. Now, the show is back by popular demand – and, in usual HandleBards style, you can expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter.
Join the HandleBards’ all-female troupe in the beautiful gardens of Crook Hall in Durham for Romeo and Juliet as you’ve never seen it before!
Please call 0191 384 8028 to book tickets.

This Adults Halloween come and join us for Timeworks Theatre production of
One thought, one conception, one purpose … the unfolding of the deepest mysteries of creation…
Two hundred years ago, Mary Shelley’s terrifying novel of Gothic horror, Frankenstein, was first published. Its purpose: to consider the unholiest of all questions – what if man were to discover the power of God?
Consumed by the ambition to discover the secret of life, Dr Victor Frankenstein succeeds in creating a living, intelligent creature in his laboratory. But when the creature stirs, he fears he has unleashed a monster upon the world. Today, with the unlocking of the secrets of DNA and the possibility of cloning and genetic engineering, it’s a tale that remains as relevant, and as horrifying, as ever.
To celebrate the bicentennial of the novel’s publication, Timeworks Theatre presents a new adaptation of Frankenstein, which evokes both the terror of the novel itself and key events in the life of the woman that spawned it – the stories of Victor Frankenstein, creator of a monster, and Mary Shelley, creator of one of the most celebrated horror stories of all time.
