Luxury Group Experiences

Summer FlowersThe Medieval Hall at Crook HallEnjoy Christmas at Crook Hall

At Crook Hall we do everything we can to ensure that every single one of our visitors has a special experience. We now plan to build on our reputation as a first rate group destination by offering some unique luxury group tour packages. Choose from one of the following or discuss your requirements with us so that we can organise a bespoke visit for your group.

Early Evening Champagne Reception

Welcome and introduction to the Hall and Gardens by Maggie and Keith Bell who have lived in the Hall since 1995.

Maggie will give a personal insight into living in a haunted Medieval Manor House, while Keith will be on hand to answer any questions about the extensive gardens. Champagne will be served in the Secret Walled Garden. The group will then have time to explore the Hall and Gardens for themselves.

This is a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and tranquillity of Crook Hall after members of the public have gone home. Early evening is a wonderful time to be in the gardens. (Especially with a glass of champagne in your hand!) The scent of honeysuckle and roses is at its height and, on practice nights, the sound of the cathedral bells drifts across the river. Enchanting!

A Private Ghost Hunt

An autumn ghost hunt by lantern light, followed by mulled wine in front of a log fire in the Jacobean Room.

Crook Hall, a grade 1 listed building, is beautiful. During the summer months the gardens are full of bright flowers and sunlight – indeed they are described by Alan Titchmarsh as “a tapestry of colourful blooms”. However, when viewed through the autumn dusk, the grounds take on a far more eerie presentation, with shadowy paths and dark corners.

Those who are brave enough are invited to join Maggie Bell who lives in the Hall as she recounts the stories of the White Lady and shares her own experiences of living in a haunted manor house. The tour ends in the private cellar of the house…..prepare to be afraid!!!!

A Traditional Christmas at Crook Hall

Come along to Crook Hall to join in a traditional Christmas celebration. The Hall looks beautiful when decorated with holly and ivy and is the perfect setting for carols, open fires, mulled wine and mince pies.

Father Christmas will be waiting by his log fire in the Georgian Study to greet all our guests. (He might even have some gifts in his sack – why should the children have all the fun?)

This event is guaranteed to evoke Christmassy feelings and would combine really well with a shopping trip into Durham and perhaps attendance at one of the Cathedral services. This is a chance to escape from the commercialisation of Christmas and enjoy some yuletide magic from years gone by.
