Afternoon Teas and Refreshments
We are so proud of the food we serve in our courtyard café and Georgian dining room but did not know what to say so we listened to our customers.
-A special table was set aside for us with a glass of bubbly, tea, coffee and a cake stand full of 4 types of sandwiches, delicious melt in the mouth scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of cakes & chocolates. Staff and service were great and friendly and the gardens and hall themselves are a wonderful place to visit.
Anyone coming to Durham should give Crook Hall a visit, it is so near to the city yet feels like a different world.
-Amazing afternoon tea in Crook Hall's sunny courtyard. The food is baked freshly that morning, and served by friendly staff (I think this is a family run business and they bake the scones and cakes each day) There is also a nice little water feature, and classical music playing - beautiful :
-The cream tea was delicious; we had a large pot of tea for 2 and it was served by a very friendly and personable young lady, in fact all of the staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful.
-I had booked the sparkling afternoon tea as a present for my friend and it was excellent, we started with a glass of champagne and then had tea which comprised sandwiches, cakes and the best scones with jam and cream I have ever had, and believe me we have tried a lot! It was organised really well and all the staff are really friendly. We had a lovely table in front of a Georgian window which made us feel very special, all in all a resounding success.
- I spent a lovely afternoon at Crook Hall, the highlight of which was having afternoon tea in the stunning gardens (the sun even came out for a few hours). The variety and quality of sandwiches and cakes was excellent, the staff were brilliant - friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the price was very reasonable
Our café is open all the time we are open for light lunches and cream teas. If you would like to book a table for a Sparkling Afternoon tea you will have to ring
