This is a recent addition and is now quite well established. The fish, the reflections, the sound of running water and the views across open countryside provide a sanctuary for relaxation or quiet contemplation.

The large fish in the pond are golden rudd, while the smaller ones have come as uninvited but welcome guests, especially for the heron! The planting around the pond includes water lilies, hosta, iris gunnera. Above the pond is the Arbour with hops and vine jostling through the lattice. Of particular note is the elm tree, which is growing behind the Arbour.

The arbour stands on an ancient rampart, which formed the northern defences along with a dry ditch, which is now filled with the moat pool.
