In previous centuries this was the vegetable garden for the Hall. At one time there was a greenhouse attached to the hall with a large vine inside. Beehives were located in the recess on the north wall. The pear trees which can be seen slumped against the walls of the Hall were planted to ward off evil spirits.Long may they flourish.

The vegetable garden has been replaced by a beautiful traditional English garden with a wide variety of perennials and roses. Two trees of particular note are the large Magnolia and the large Gingko Biloba.
